Alfred Sutton was an importer and very talented restorer of Persian and oriental rugs. He started in the trade at the beginning of the last century, and worked for some of the most prestigious companies in this field, as well as and running his own retail stores in Fulham and Chelsea.
In 2004, Bonnie Sutton, the granddaughter of the founder joined the business and set about embracing the new millennium by re-structuring and re-branding the company, Suttons Rugs became Knots. She started to extend the range to a more contemporary collection of beautifully hand made rugs This strategy has proved to be extremely successful and Knots has managed to maintain the reputation of Suttons as a specialist retailers of excellent stock with first class service and knowledge.
